This encompasses both the apparent, surface-level meanings and the deeper, more concealed or allegorical interpretations. While some experts may contend that Tafsir and Tawil, which delves into the internal, mystical connotations of the Quran, are identical, it is crucial to possess a comprehensive comprehension of the Mufassir, or the Quran commentator, to truly grasp the subtleties of Tafsir.
Role of Mufassir
Having a strong foundation in one's belief system and a thorough understanding of the Arabic language and related sciences, such as the study of Qur'anic narration, is crucial for effective interpretation of the Qur'an. It is important to avoid personal opinions and rely on accurate comprehension. Starting with the text itself, seeking guidance from the words and explanations of the Prophet and referencing the reports of the sahaba and tabi'un is recommended. Consulting respected scholars is also advisable.
Our online Tafsir course is currently designed for adult learners with the aim of providing a comprehensive understanding of verses containing direct commands from Allah S.W.T for humanity. Additionally, we offer a separate course specifically tailored for children. We plan to organize group classes for sisters in the future, God willing.
